Toronto bin guide

Planning dumpster delivery in a Toronto laneway.

Laneways can work for bin placement, but small access problems become large truck problems.

Walk the full approach

Measure the narrowest point from the street to the drop location. Include gates, utility poles, garages, fences and recurring parked vehicles.

Look overhead

Delivery equipment needs vertical clearance. Identify utility wires, tree branches, balconies, eaves and signs before the truck arrives.

Coordinate neighbours and vehicles

Shared lanes can be blocked by short-term parking, waste carts or another contractor. Keep the route open for both delivery and pickup.

Share photos

Clear photos of the entrance, tight turns and placement area can reveal access concerns before dispatch.

Remember: the truck needs more room than the bin footprint.
